Hugh Holland – 1970’s Cali Skate Scene Photographs

Hugh Holland’s sublime and ethereal images of California skate scene in the 70’s captured more than just the birth of street skating. They show the displacement of youth culture that inspires most young skaters to pick up a board and spend hours with friends in car parks and on the streets. Admittedly Cali looks a whole lot sunnier and nicer then a North Birmingham KiwkSave car park – but regardless of the decade or the continent we all share a bond and these pictures will remind you of your crew from back in the day.
