Glasgow has certainly been making some ripples the electronic music pond over the last couple of years/decades. The latest Glaswegian line up of usual suspects include; Hudson Mohawke, Numbers label and this wee chappie Rustie.
This LP blurs the boundaries of the multitude of bass-centric genres out there – usually on the same track. Not stuck in the dubstep/post-dubstep/ironic dubstep rut that many young producers get caught in, this LP features plently of sonically sculptured sounds and a fair pinch of 80’s synth throwback, implying a more mature thinking behind this album.
Available to by on WARP.
And a little mix from Rustie on Groove Magazine
Also here’s a little taster of my favourite track from the LP – Hover Traps.
